PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING A LEGAL REQUIREMENT

SAFETY AT WORK ACT SECTION (2)
As
you may or may not know, it is now the EMPLOYERS/ LANDLORDS duty to maintain
all plant (portable appliances), with regards to section 4 of the IEE
Regulations 17th edition. Examples of portable appliances are such
things as computers, photo copiers, kettles, irons etc. Not only do the majority of insurers insist
on it, but it is also now law that all appliances must be tested, labelled and
logged on an annual basis. This new act
is no longer a recommendation it is the LAW and is enforceable by large fines therefore PAT Testing is an absolute must.

Electrical Services have the latest computerised equipment that carries out every
test necessary without any chance of damaging the internal circuitry. This
ranges from 110volt machinery to all IT equipment. A full detailed log of all
equipment tested, with notes attached where necessary if any equipment has been
changed or improved is printed out as the test certificate.
Remedial
work can also be carried out where necessary to ensure that the item will pass
the tests.
