Background information

Tour Padel is a fast-growing operator delivering high-quality, community focused padel tennis facilities across the UK. Located at the University of Greenwich’s Medway Campus, this site was designed to create a vibrant, accessible sporting hub at the heart of the university.

JHP Electrical Services was appointed to deliver a reliable and efficient electrical infrastructure to support the development of four new padel courts, ensuring optimal performance, user experience, and long-term sustainability.

Project overview

The project involved the full electrical installation for four padel courts, including power supply, lighting, and an integrated control system linked to an online booking platform.

A key aspect of the scheme was sourcing power directly from the University’s power station, which required precise metering and careful coordination with university stakeholders.

The installation also included:

  • High-quality court lighting systems
  • Power supply for locker sockets
  • Secure and durable SWA (steel wire armoured) cabling throughout

JHP Electrical Services worked closely with the client and the University to ensure seamless delivery from concept through to completion.

Strategic approach

JHP Electrical Services adopted a collaborative and solution driven approach to ensure the success of the project:

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Regular communication with the University of Greenwich was essential to align on power supply requirements, metering, and compliance standards.
  • Efficient Power Distribution: Power was carefully routed from the university’s power station, with accurate metering to ensure accountability and cost efficiency.
  • Robust Infrastructure: SWA cabling was utilised to provide durability and long-term reliability for both court lighting and locker facilities.
  • Smart Technology Integration: A control system was installed to integrate seamlessly with Tour Padel’s online booking platform, enabling automated usage and energy efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Any on-site challenges were addressed quickly with a proactive, can-do attitude, ensuring timelines were maintained.

Results and achievements

The completed installation delivered a high-performance electrical system that supports both operational efficiency and an enhanced player experience.

Key outcomes included:

  • Reliable and metered power supply from the university infrastructure
  • High-quality lighting across all four courts for optimal visibility and safety
  • Fully integrated control system supporting online booking functionality
  • Durable and compliant electrical installations using SWA cabling
  • On-time delivery aligned with project milestones
  • The result is a modern, energy-efficient

Client satisfaction

Tour Padel expressed exceptional satisfaction with JHP Electricals’ performance across both this and other projects:

"We have had the pleasure of working with JHP Electricals across both of our padel club builds, and the experience has been outstanding from start to finish. From the initial scoping conversations through to final sign-off, their team demonstrated a level of attentiveness and professionalism that sets them apart.

On-site, their staff were a real asset — knowledgeable, solution-focused, and a pleasure to have on our projects. Whenever challenges arose, as they inevitably do on any build, JHP’s team approached them with a calm, can-do attitude and always found a way through.

The quality of their electrical work across both sites has been exactly what we needed, delivered on time and with care. As a growing business opening multiple venues, having a trusted contractor we can rely on is invaluable — and JHP Electricals have more than earned that trust.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any operator undertaking a commercial build, and we look forward to continuing to work with them as Tour Padel expands."
