Redbourn Golf Club, part of Burhill Golf and Leisure Ltd (BGL Golf), is a premier golfing destination in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. With two scenic courses, a modern clubhouse, and a cutting-edge driving range, it is known for its high-quality facilities.

As part of BGL’s commitment to enhancing visitor experience through technology and comfort, they invested in a major upgrade to the driving range — entrusting JHP Electrical as the electrical contractor and specialist in golf range lighting and ball-tracing technology.

Project overview

JHP Electrical delivered a full-scale electrical and AV infrastructure upgrade at Redbourn Golf Club’s driving range, with all works certified to installation standards, system testing and commissioning.

Key elements of the project included:

• Installation of bay heating systems
• Upgraded range lighting to enhance visibility and usability in all conditions
• Full containment and cabling for Trackman radar systems, including power, data and TV’s
• AV installation for televisions and integrated sound systems across the range
• Installation of new SWA (steel wire armoured) supply cables to support robust power distribution
• Groundworks in collaboration with subcontractor New Century Landscaping, including trenching and ducting across car park and tee areas and pole positioning and reinstatement of disturbed surfaces

JHP will also return to Redbourn in 2026 to carry out the electrical works for a driving range extension in partnership with Clark’s Construction. This will include all internal lighting, power, and AV installations, as well as external range lighting solutions.
